Dr Jadir completes the next phase of his surgical training

Dr Jadir, surgeon-in-training, performed a challenging squeakectomy yesterday. Firstly, the removal of the first section which observant students will see in the foreground, and inspection of the remaining parts:



Then the young doctor removes the primary organ. Notice the delicate teethwork required and the neat incision through the leg of the pig:



Then the site is inspected closely to see if there are any squeak parts left to be extracted:



Finally, the young doctor's work is appraised by the Senior Surgeon. Ms Lucy observes that the mass that has been extracted could be further dissected to establish the nature of the problem squeaker, but praises the young student on his fine handiwork.

Heh. I remember when my (long ago) dogs would gradually destroy their little squeaky toys, and sometimes I would put a now-toyless squeaker in my mouth and breathe in and out of it to make them run around trying to figure out where the invisible squeaky toy could be.

I'm impressed at seeing Dr Jadir employ his fine manual (and, er, dental) dexterity in taking out the disturbing growth. It's nice to see such active mentoring by the senior staff in the institution - such a comprehensive training programme!

I have already seen someone write a short 'squeakectomy paper' as a humour piece so I would not be the first with the idea, although Jadir's approach is not the usual "throw n' rip" technique. Part of what I found fascinating about it was how delicate he was.

A Google search doesn't throw the text up. Think it was published in a dog magazine I have somewhere, if I can find it, I'll upload it. It was hilarious.
